Access Bank gets full licence to operate in Namibia

The Bank of Namibia (BON) has officially authorized Access Bank Namibia Limited to conduct banking business across the country, effective today, 2 October 2026.

Access Bank is a leading multinational commercial bank headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria and is one of the largest financial institutions in Africa.

According to a statement by BON, the regulatory approval was granted under section 13(2) of the Banking Institutions Act, 2023 (Act No. 13 of 2023), following a comprehensive assessment by the central bank.

With this license, Access Bank Namibia Limited is now fully cleared to accept public deposits and provide complete banking services across the Namibian market.
